RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1184220

People

(Reporter: shanemikel1, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:37.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/37.0
Build ID: 20150404092546

Steps to reproduce:

I don't see a way of easily reproducing this bug.

Actual results:

Using the search bar, every now and again typing a search and pressing enter will open the search bar's settings dialogue instead of performing a search, which requires me to close the dialogue and press enter again.

Expected results:

I would expect that I can quickly type a search string and hit enter, and that my search would be conducted immediately without exception.
Component: Untriaged → Search
OS: Unspecified → Linux
Hardware: Unspecified → x86_64
It might be helpful to note that I'm using Gnome 3.14
Happens to me too. I'm no Ubuntu 15.04.
Also seems to happen randomly. Is there anything I can do to, once it happens, have some useful info to share?
If you are a keyboard user and don't touch the mouse at all, the most likely reason for this to happen is that you somehow hit the up arrow key while typing your search query. If so, that's bug 1184220.

If your mouse is likely to have moved (even by only one pixel) while you were typing, then it's bug 1139655.
