Steps how to reproduce with EN-US Seamonkey 2.33.1 Gecko/20100101 Build 20150321194901 (Default Theme) on German WIN7 64bit 1. Save arbitrary simple text mail as FunctionTest.eml (or use attachment for your tests) 2. In e-mail-client menu 'File → Open File ... → FunctionTest.eml → Open' » e-mail will be opened in new independent window 3. Click 'Reply▼ → Reply' (or alternatively 'Reply') Expected: New edit-email-window will be opened Actual: Nothing happens 4. Click 'Forward▼ → Inline' (or alternatively 'Forward▼ → Attachment' or 'Forward') Expected: New edit-email-window will be opened Actual: Nothing happens 5. Click 'Reply All' Expected: New edit-email-window will be opened Actual: Nothing happens 6. Menu 'Message → Edit as New' Expected: New edit-email-window will be opened Actual: Nothing happens All expected results will hapen if try form a normal e-mail in inbox after having opened in in a new independent window fromcontext menu on mail in thread pane.

Works fine with Thunderbird 31.5.0, seems to be SeaMonkey only.
OS: Unspecified → Windows 7

Someone help dig out the relevant Thunderbird patches that fixed this. This should give us some idea on how to proceed.
