Right now, you click the "Share" button after typing your note to go along with a link, and there's no feedback from then on. No idea if the link was sent or not. There should be some sort of visual indicator (a notification, a bubble, a flashing icon, something), or a sound effect (or both).
That's a function of the specific provider since we do not implement that content. IIRC, twitter does have a note, gmail shows a brief message before closing the window, facebook doesn't indicate anything, etc.
SocialAPI was removed from Firefox 57 and is no longer available in any current release.
