Details

Pressing Esc in devtools currently opens a console. I find it extremely weird. If anything, it should probably close the devtools pane. Or, do nothing. :-)
We purposely bound this key for this feature when we implemented bug 862558, mainly because this is what chrome and webkit do and we have a general goal of mimicking standard interaction schemes from other browsers' tools in order to remove switching cost / friction. Sorry if you find it distracting.
