Found this issue while testing Firefox 38 beta 8, build ID: 20150427090451 on Windows 8.1 64-bit. STR: Prerequisite: Make sure you have Unity web player installed. 1. Open Firefox using a clean profile; 2. Go to http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16956434/3rdPersonDemo/FirstPersonPlayer.html Expected Results: Unity web player should ask for activation. Actual Results: The page asks the user to install unity (although unity is already installed). Notes: This issue also reproduces on latest Nightly and latest Aurora builds. Here is an example screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/1ywZ5EC.png
Unity is only a 32-bit plugin, and you're testing it on 64-bit Firefox.

It also reproduces on 32-bit Firefox builds.
Does the Unity plugin appear in the addon manager and/or about:plugins in a 32-bit build?

Nope, Unity plugin is not displayed neither in the addon manager, nor in about:plugins using a Firefox 32-bit build.
