The problem was not with the aggregator, it was that the edge node was missing the decoder after a puppet change. It's been reinstated in https://github.com/mozilla-services/puppet-config/commit/e56159efe920cc9ce6d514ec587340f4a4a8f6ea, so you'll want to spin a new stage stack to grab the fix.
