This is a single, t2.micro box for running monitoring logic that does synthetic transactions and verification beyond the capabilities of datadog metrics alerts. Initial design: - auto-recovered if any system (power, network, hardware, software problem) in EC2 - runs splice index verification - runs onyx -> redshift end to end verification - records onyx ELB healthy hosts to datadog every min - records sqs.approximate_number_of_messages_visible to datadog every min
