1162428 - search bar that shows up in apps does not work, ui gets stuck in it

while in certain apps if you go to access the search bar on the top you access it, can enter text but it will not search, also you get stuck in it even the home button does not work.

Steps to reproduce:
1) open either apps, tv, devices, or dashboard
2) select search bar on top of screen
3) type search criteria, does not matter
4) hit enter and observe that nothing happens
5) attempt to exit the search via the cancel next to search area, or home button
6) observe that you cannot exit the search

Reproduction rate: 10/10

User impact: greatly impacts users due to not being able to exit the search bar and impeding use

Expected results: Search bar is opened and is usable to search as desired and if decided not to be able to close and return the main UI

Actual results: Search bar is stuck open, you cannot search or close it to return the main UI

Some TV functions may not work correctly on the phone. But still, no harm if we have a look.

this was on the b2g simulator not a device.

Hi Jamie,

May I have your screenshot of b2g simulator? Since we don't have a search bar on top of app, all app should be fullscreen which is hardcoded in smart-system.

At smart-home app, we have a dummy search icon. It opens search text box and close it while you press it. That's normal because we don't have a search app for TV now. That's done for partner.

yes which i think is really odd... the only difference is i have changed the way I have built the profile which is for a flame device instead of the simulator. So as of now I would say close this as invalid... I will try to take a closer look in the morning if i have a chance. But  doubt i will  reproduce it.

Honestly, we don't have search bar on top of app. So, it may be a wrong build while running B2G desktop. I will close this issue. Thanks.
