Description: If the user taps the home button while they are downloading a smart collection, they are returned to the homescreen with none or very few of the smart collections that were sleected. They are also removed from the download list. Repro Steps: 1) Update a Flame to 20150507064907 2) Long press the homescreen 3) Tap "Add Smart Collections" 4) Select a all the smart collections> Tap OK 5) Wait about 10-15 seconds> Tap home button Actual: User is taken to homescreen, but none of the selected apps are shown on the homescreen. If the user tries to access the smart collection list again, most of the apps will be gone from the list as if they have been downloaded. Also after restrting the user cannot long tap the homescreen until they enter edit mode and then go back to the homescreen. Then all of the downloaded apps will appear on the homescreen Expected: User can see collections that finished downloading, and collection sthat did not finish downloading will appear in the list. Environmental Variables: Device: Flame 3.0 (319mb)(Kitkat)(Full Flash) Build ID: 20150507064907 Gaia: 83b27f522642ea573c57e882657ab5c73d4b07f4 Gecko: 403e3c2380b5 Gonk: a9f3f8fb8b0844724de32426b7bcc4e6dc4fa2ed Version: 40.0a1 (3.0) Firmware Version: v18D-1 User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Mobile; rv:40.0) Gecko/40.0 Firefox/40.0 Repro frequency: 10/10 See attached: Logcat, Video - https://youtu.be/ECMC4HVLda0
This issue DOES occur on Flame 2.2 User is taken to homescreen, but none of the selected apps are shown on the homescreen. If the user tries to access the smart collection list again, most of the apps will be gone from the list as if they have been downloaded. Also after restrting the user cannot long tap the homescreen until they enter edit mode and then go back to the homescreen. Then all of the downloaded apps will appear on the homescreen Environmental Variables: Device: Flame 2.2 (319mb)(Kitkat)(Full Flash) Build ID: 20150507002500 Gaia: 83a63e0e6fcc22c6a74b06ef77b88d5049719cad Gecko: 118ddfc76b60 Gonk: ab265fb203390c70b8f2a054f38cf4b2f2dad70a Version: 37.0 (2.2) Firmware Version: v18D-1 User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Mobile; rv:37.0) Gecko/37.0 Firefox/37.0 Environmental Variables: Device: Flame 2.1 (319mb)(Kitkat)(Full Flash) Build ID: 20150507001202 Gaia: b4a03b7ee61de5a479b3cf0916f47e91a43b0f50 Gecko: 4493015380ab Gonk: ab265fb203390c70b8f2a054f38cf4b2f2dad70a Version: 34.0 (2.1) Firmware Version: v18D-1 User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Mobile; rv:34.0) Gecko/34.0 Firefox/34.0 This issue does NOT occur on Flame 2.0 If the user taps home during the Smart Collections download, the download cancels altogether Environmental Variables: Device: Flame 2.0 (319mb)(Kitkat)(Full Flash) Build ID: 20150427000202 Gaia: 84898cadf28b1a1fcd03b726cff658de470282f0 Gecko: f700ee0a507d Gonk: ebad7da532429a6f5efadc00bf6ad8a41288a429 Version: 32.0 (2.0) Firmware Version: v18D-1 User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Mobile; rv:32.0) Gecko/32.0 Firefox/32.0

Kevin, can you take a look?

Can we test on a non memory restricted device as well?

> If the user taps home during the Smart Collections download, the download cancels altogether Based on the behavior of 2.0 it sounds like perhaps we changed this to be more of a streaming approach, adding them one-by-one instead of in one shot. Sounds like a bug, but I certainly don't think it's a blocker. Probably won't have time to get to this for a while though.

This issue is reproducible on Flame 3.0 with unrestricted memory. Smart collections don't get added to Homescreen if I interrupt it by tapping Home button 10 to 15 seconds into the adding process. After reboot the Homescreen context menu can't be opened until entering editing mode, and after that the smart collections magically reappear on Homescreen. > Sounds like a bug, but I certainly don't think it's a blocker. I didn't read comment 2 fully, if you can't enter edit mode that might be pretty bad. I'll try to reproduce this.
