Description: When viewing a specific email, there is a read/unread icon at the bottom of the screen indicating what state the email is in. Tapping this icon toggles the email to the other state. Tapping an Read icon > Changes the email state to Unread. On a list of emails (such as the inbox), when the user taps the check mark to select one or more emails, the same read/unread icons will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tapping this icon will also toggle the state of the email, but the displayed icon shows the state that the email WILL BE, not what it CURRENTLY IS. Tapping an Unread icon > Changes the email state to Unread. This is a contradiction in functionality. The user will expect that tapping the same icon will have the same functionality in both areas of the same app. Repro Steps: 1) Update a Flame to 20150507064907 2) Open the Email app and log in to an email account. 3) In the Inbox, tap the check mark and select a Read email. Note the Unread icon is present at the bottom of the screen. 4) Open the Read email. Note the Read icon is present at the bottom of the screen. Actual: Tapping the Read/Unread icons has opposite, contradicting functionality when used in a single email, vs. used in the Inbox. Expected: Tapping the Read/Unread icons produces the same functionality in all areas of the app. Environmental Variables: Device: Flame 3.0 (Full Flash) Build ID: 20150507064907 Gaia: 83b27f522642ea573c57e882657ab5c73d4b07f4 Gecko: 403e3c2380b5 Gonk: a9f3f8fb8b0844724de32426b7bcc4e6dc4fa2ed Version: 40.0a1 (3.0) Firmware Version: v18D-1 User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Mobile; rv:40.0) Gecko/40.0 Firefox/40.0 Repro frequency: 10/10 See attached: Logcat, Video (URL)
This issue DOES occur on Flame 2.2 builds. Tapping the Read/Unread icons has opposite, contradicting functionality when used in a single email, vs. used in the Inbox. Flagging Juwei on this bug as well. Again no pun intended. :)

Hello! I don't see any inconsistency in here... No matter users enter what message in detail, it means the message is read by the users already at the moment. So showing the unread icon to indicate the email WILL BE. On the message list view, when users select an unread item, the read icon is displayed to indicate the email WILL BE marked as read. When users select an unread and a read messages, the unread icon is displayed to indicate both email WILL BE marked as unread.
