>>Project/Request Title: Webmaker Launch Trailer >>Project Overview: Webmaker will launch this summer, and we need a trailer video to (a) get people excited toward the end of beta production, and (b) illustrate how people can use the app be fun and creative while sharing with and learning from one another. >> Creative Help Needed: Copy: No Design: No Video: Yes Other: No >>Creative Specs: 30 second video in website-ready format >>CTA and Design: "Webmaker is a place where you can meet cool people, capture the best moments of your life, and share all that with friends." Intro slides (which will continue to update): https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1fdb6gJ1XMY7UJdh9Ac5r8_Ic0PAnimEKVXkj9w7wD6w Website on which we're hoping to host the video: beta.webmaker.org App: https://github.com/mozilla/webmaker-android Sentiments, content, and behaviour to convey: https://github.com/mozilla/webmaker-android/issues/1665 Features to show off: https://github.com/mozilla/webmaker-android/issues/1456#issuecomment-88578389 Our GoToMarket strategy includes Bangladesh, Indonesia, North America, Brazil, and Kenya at the moment. Would be nice to either include that diversity somehow, or make it easy for contributors to remix the video for launch in their market (e.g. save a Blender project somewhere that people can download and edit). Rough storyboard outline (which we'll refine): * Girl gets inspired by "happy people"/"graffiti" project on Webmaker * Goes outside and takes pictures of people/things to go in her project * Incrementally adds content throughout the day, and plays with style/layout of content * Links it to her in-Webmaker blog and/or the original project she saw, and publishes her project * Shares it online, where her friends leave comments * Shows her parent/teacher her work as though it's an important hobby/homework project >>Expected Launch Date: 2015-06-05 >>Mozilla Goal: Webmaker App Launch >>Mozilla Creative Collective: No >>Points of Contact: bobby@mozillafoundation.org, paulj@mozillafoundation.org, mattheww@mozillafoundation.org,

Very excited to have this rolling! - Paul has tests running currently to figure out better language for the tiles - Would be great to have the aesthetic of the tiles match what's on Webmaker already (we talked a bit about colours on the call) - Can we make the tiles section look more like you're actually in the app (Webmaker)? - In general, less text (but we'll work on the specific wording ASAP) - Copy is really heavy on the internal rhetoric about Webmaker and Mozilla, but we'll work on some language that applies directly to the "maker" audience we've identified - We're thinking it might be beneficial to have the story come first, followed by tiles+words to drive home what the app is, what it's called, and CTA to download it - We have to come up with what to put at the end as a CTA (webmaker.org with play store icon) Love the idea you mentioned about the story on the call. Just want to make sure I got it right: 1. Close-up of the app 2. Show some usage (like the old Webmaker video) 3. Pull away from the close-up to show someone walking around, meeting people, having fun, doing stuff 4. Happy conclusion that leaves you warm and fuzzy 5. Close-up of the app again to conclude Did I get that right?
Existing Bangladesh video (but Paul will bring you the hard drive with more on it): https://vimeo.com/109398165
