Hi,

We're looking into adding FF for Android (and later iOS) to the app sidebar across Yahoo apps.  See attached image.  Yahoo is requesting App icons with the following specs:

App icons 26 *26 and 52*52

Hey Winston, 

I want to make sure that I am understanding the ask, since all of the apps listed are Yahoo properties. Do you just need a Firefox logo sized to the dimensions above and the title would distinguish "Firefox for Android" and iOS when available? Or something more along the lines of the app icon created for iOS? I hope these questions make sense.

Hi hi. Basically just the logo but it needs to be in the same format (i guess some kind of line around it similar to what you see with FLickr).  So yeah - similar to iOS.

I think we need to think about this a bit. Putting it in a rounded square like that is going to make it look like the iOS icon (that's not a standard shape for Android icons).

It will also make it look like a Yahoo app. We should do something to differentiate ours from the others.

Is there any flexibility on what we can do?

I don't think we'll have a lot of flexibility here. This is in the UX for all their apps.  They don't often include non-Yahoo apps here.  It's a very nice opp for Android promotion... and free.  But let me send your feedback over and get their thoughts.

All their apps use iOS styled icons it seems, so yes there would be a disconnect here if we're promoting an Android app but had to present it in an iOS style (the rounded square base).

Talked with Yahoo more.  We just need the plain logo in the requested sizes.  No need for a square or outline.
