Linux, 200112108 (0.9.7) The new "Open windows by themselves" preference doesn't seem to work on the one site that I want it to work on! To reproduce: browse to the listed URL. For your area, you may need to plug through a few screens to get a listing of the channels and programs. With the "Open windows by themselves" preference checked, click on a link corresponding to a program. A new window pops up with a description, etc, of the program. Also, a fine ad window will pop up for you. Next, un-check the preference. Try the above again. Result: no ad window, but also no program description pop-up. Maybe I'm confused, but since the window I want to see opens as a result of a mouse click, it shouldn't be classified as a window that's automatically "opened by itself," is it?

It is broken for me in a different way. I have the preference to allow windows to open by themselves unchecked. I don't see the ad popups, and the tvguide.com show listing windows do popup. But they are blank. And after checking the preference to allow windows to open by themselves, I see the exact same thing (still no ads, but I think that doesn't happen every time anyway) Running milestone 0.9.7 on Linux (build id 2001122108)
One correction, I guess I needed to quit/restart for that pref change to take effect, after I tried it that way the undesired ad window did open up. However, the show listing window was still blank for me. It looked like it normally does, same size, white background, etc., just totally blank.
With the latest trunk build, I don't see this problem. Also, I can't seem to re-reproduce it on 0.9.7. So for now, I'll mark this as invalid. I think there is a bug hiding in here somewhere, but I'll post a new bug when I can reproduce it.
