RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1166066

People

(Reporter: Zach, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64; rv:38.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/38.0
Build ID: 20150513174244

Steps to reproduce:

In Options > General > Tabs, do not check "Open new windows in a new tab instead".

Open a private browsing window.

Go to any web page with links that will open a new window.

Click any such link.

Actual results:

The new window is opened as expected, but it does not show the Menu toolbar, the Bookmarks toolbar or the elevator scroll bar on the right side of the page.

If I right-click next to the address bar, the drop-down menu does show that "Menu Bar" and "Bookmarks Toolbar" are checked, even though they do not appear.

Expected results:

The menu bar, bookmarks toolbar and scroll bar should be there.

Note that the missing items will not be missing if the same steps are performed from a window that is not Private Browsing. These items will also appear properly if a new Private Browsing window is opened from the File menu or using the blindfold icon. The bug only appears if the new Private Browsing window opens as a result of clicking a link in an existing Private Browsing window.

This behavior is new today. Yesterday it was working fine.

I have tried disabling add-ons and restarting my computer, but the behavior is persistent and repeatable.
I have just reproduced this behavior on different computer, so it appears to be unrelated to my activity on the computer where I first noticed it.
