The new MediaFormatReader code is causing playback to fail in nightly builds on Mac OS X (reported by dougt in irc) and issues with restarting playback when returning from tabs (See bug 1166156).
dougt requested disabling for now until issues are resolved.

And per irc discussion - this is no longer needed as bug 1164480 was the culprit for the Mac issues.
