According to the Chakra team, UglifyJS is used a lot on the most popular sites, and it exposed some performance issues.

I want to minify some benchmarks and compare performance to the unminified JS.
I remember looking at this after I filed the bug, and I didn't see perf issues after running some benchmarks through minifiers.
