<KaiRo> rhelmer: grr, we have an issue with correlations and our beta version number rewrites - the script looks for "38.0.5" or "39.0" but the crash reports actually say "38.0.5b3", "39.0b1", etc. now <KaiRo> and those beta versions individually are small enough that they don't get correlations generated by the volume-driven non-forced mechanism :( <rhelmer> KaiRo: ugh, yeah that makes sense... so we should be able to use the right version number in the correlations script now <rhelmer> KaiRo: in the overrides <KaiRo> rhelmer: yes, but that would mean we need to bump the overrides twice a week As we are releasing two betas a week, we need to find some way to have correlations generated but not need putting in new forced versions via a patch twice a week.
FTR, a bit more from that conversation on IRC: <rhelmer> KaiRo: that's pretty frequent. should we make the script try to identify the latest beta? <KaiRo> rhelmer: at least the latest two would be good <KaiRo> rhelmer: alternatively, we could make the script aware of a "38.0.5b" meta version number and have it know to query for "LIKE '38.0.5b%'" in that case <KaiRo> rhelmer: I think I might actually prefer the solution to detect a "38.0.5b" version and do a special query for that - probably easier than to detect latest betas <KaiRo> rhelmer: and when we finally get rid of this script, we'll have a better solution anyhow <rhelmer> KaiRo: true <KaiRo> rhelmer: hrm, I just realized we'd need to UI to know as well to look for "38.0.5b" etc. <rhelmer> yeah I think we strip those out intentionally now
