When opening the mail Window (Ctrl + 2  or menu bar) it opens but disappears
after 1 second (without cashing the browser :))

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Browser normal Browser Window
2. press ctrl + 2 or choose tasks / mail&newsgroups from menu bar
3.

Actual Results:  my inbox window (with correct email address) opens and
disappears after 1 second. Mozilla keeps on running flawless.

Expected Results:  keep the mail window open? :)

sorry, it was the fault of Popup Killer (or better MY fault), I set it to
maximum agressive mode so it recognized the mail window as a popup :)

Popup Killer v 1.45.1,  smart detection at maximum level

heh, thanks for reporting back (it's a JS window, so I'm sure we just did
window.open() ).
