1170016 - Spell checking does not work in ipboard quick reply boxes

STR:
Load a thread on an IPBoard (tested with https://www.forum.piriform.com)
Type in the Quick Reply box at the bottom of the thread page


Expected results:
Typing incorrectly in the quick reply box should produce spelling suggestions

Actual Results:
No spelling suggestions nor indication of incorrect spelling provided.




Attempting to use the Quick Reply box on IPBoard forums does not offer spell checking support, at least not consistently. 

This issue was first pointed out in a dedicated Firefox/Mozilla thread by Piriform user Andavari in 2012 and has persisted.

A post from today (2015-05-31) still acknowledging a possible fix for this on the user side.  

This has been an issue since at least Fx version 10, at the earliest report on the page.

Seems to work for me both in the reply box at the bottom of a thread and the separate page linked through the "reply to this thread" button. Are you still seeing this?

Seems to be working now. Will revisit this bug if it ever stops again
