If history snapshots are enabled with the browser.snapshots.limit flag, then when swiping to move through history the snapshots are rendered as blank white pages.

Additionally after completing the swipe (and thus completing the navigation), the new page fails to render. Instead displaying a solid white page.
I have encountered this bug still in version 41.0a2, if browser.snapshots.limit is set to 0, then swiping works, although it has to reload the webpage. Increasing or decreasing the limit does not change the white pages bug. The forward and back buttons also cause it.

On the other hand, if e10s is turned off, then everything works as intended.
Yeah. Fixing this with e10s is on my list, but probably not going to happen before September.

Any updates on this? I am still experiencing this issue.
It would be great if this was fixed, ATM there is no real feedback of a swipe to go back apart from the tiny loading animations at the top of the window. So swiping is a bit hit and miss. Cheers now.
I don't know much about snapshots, but it's not something related to global history.
Maybe document navigation?

Was this feature removed entirely at some point? I couldn't find the browser.snapshots.limit flag in about:config on Firefox 67.0.1.

Severity: normal → S3
