Description:
If the user has downloaded an app from the marketplace the icon will appear at the bottom of the homescreen. If the user is at the bottom of the homescreen when they do some sort of window transition, such as accessing homescreen settings, a large blank space will appear. This will let the background show through and make apps appear cut off. If the user long presses on the blank space to enter edit mode, and then cancels edit mode they will recover from this bug.


Repro Steps:
1) Update a Xperia Z3 Compact (B2G) to 20150601153918
2) Install any app from the marketplace
3) Return to the homescreen> Scroll to the bottom
4) Long press the homescreen> return to homescreen


Actual:
A blank space will appear on the homescreen, rendering some apps to appear cut off. This is usually seen on top of the "BuddyUp" app


Expected:
The app is installed at the bottom of the homescreen. Transitions will not leave any blank spaces on the homescreen

This issue does NOT occur on Flame 3.0

The app is installed at the bottom of the homescreen. Transitions will not leave any blank spaces on the homescreen

The blank space here is tile-sized and forcing invalidation fixes it - I'm pretty certain this is a graphics bug.

Could you attach the logcat after you trigger this bug? (no need to do the long-press to recover, I expect there may be gralloc-related messages in the log after triggering the bug).

I landed a fix to a pretty bad tiling problem this morning in bug 1169339, I wouldn't be surprised that this is another symptom of the same issue. So I recommend to wait for bug 1169339 to reach the phones before investigating further (or apply the patch now and see).
