I joined the Research team last week as their first DevOps Engineer. I occasionally blog about work and general Linux nerdery at http://edunham.net/ , and have been told to get it added to the planet. 

Also, who should I talk to to find out what the research planet (http://planet.mozilla.org/research/) is for? It seems to be abandoned, and there's minimal overlap between the blogs syndicated there and the current members of the research team.

Hi, Emily! Sorry for the delay. 

Can you give me a Mozilla-tagged feed that I can syndicate? Planet is now syndicating only tagged feeds, so that inclusion is deliberate.

It looks like Andreas Gal used to own that feed, but now I'm not sure. I'll look into it.

I'll look into getting a tagged feed for you -- it looks like I might have to add that functionality to the static site generator that I'm currently using for my blog. In my opinion, committing and pushing a blog post is how I deliberately include it on the internet, but I understand that a policy is a policy. 

If deliberation over what content goes on planet is now a big deal, my understanding of the purpose of syndication may be incomplete. Could you point me toward the guidelines for what content ought to be added to the tagged feed?

Since we syndicate the tag, anything you decide to tag as Mozilla-related will get pulled into Planet. There are no guidelines as to content, only your judgement; it's intended as a trigger-guard, to confirm that all content making it to Planet was put there deliberately, not as a content restriction tool.

My apologies, "I'll add this in the morning" turned out to mean "I won't be able to touch a computer for two days because of eye problems."
