117132 - Outlook Express does not recognize my e-mail messages in .msf format

i formatted my hard drive and reinstalled all of my software.  i found my e-
mail folders in C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Mozilla\...\Outlook\pop.netzero.net 
and backed them up to a disk.  when i went to dump them back into the folder of 
the same name after reinstalling everything, i found that it did not exist.

how can i inport my messages from .msf format into Outlook Express or Netscape 
Communicator?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.save Mozilla folder to disk
2.format/reinstal
3.attempt to replace Mozilla folder with backup
4.folder does not exist on new instal
5.attempt to import into Outlook Express
6.no option to import from .msf format

Actual Results:  i can not import, nor view my old e-mail messages in outlook 
express.

Expected Results:  i expected to be able to read my old e-mail messages after 
cleaning up my system.

It's up to Microsoft to provide a Import of .msf files
