User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/43.0.2357.81 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce: 1.used charset on server side is latin1 (iso8859-1) , hebrew (iso8859-8-I/windows-1255) 2.used charset on chatzilla is on windows-1255 3.go to menu IRC > Join Channel... and choose to join a hebrew-named-channel Actual results: two windows open, both gibberish. Expected results: one window should be opened with the correct name of the channel (no gibberish). that window is ofrouse the channel window where you can normaly see users and chat
more information: 1.when changing to utf-8 on chatzilla, i cannot see hebrew channel names (gibberish is seen instead) 2.when changing to ISO-8859-8-I on chatzilla, same effect as in windows-1255 3.when changing to iso8859-1 or iso-8859-1 on chatzilla, same effect as in utf-8 4.on chatzilla when using the command /join #HEBREW_NAMED_CHANNEL it joins correctly (no gibberish) 5.on other clients (like mirc and kiwi) it joins correctly (no gibberish) 6.when the server gets a user to an auto-join channel, also have hebrew name (configured in unrealircd.conf) it joins correctly (no gibberish)

thanks for the corrections Mardeg. additional clarification points: 1.correction on last line: "ofrouse" is "ofcourse" 2.as said the "gibberish" shows up only after 'joining' the hebrew channel.on the dialog the hebrew channel names shows correctly. 3.by "two windows open" i meant "two tabs open" and by "the channel window" i meant "the channel tab" 4.bug is only reproducible via the Join dialog and not the /join command (the join command was only a hint to point out the problem is in the dialog) 5.an example server which you can experiment with is my own server: lion-o.no-ip.biz:4672

Hi Peter, That bug will be fixed because that is on the 1.0 blocklist. As we experienced it occurs when the ircd server has configured to non-utf-8 mode, and this causes double utf-8 conversion at channel/nick names.
