this should allow us to handle the mailing list problem.  (we don't properly 
import or export mailing lists.)

as putterman pointed out privately, ldif should work for mailing lists:

example ldif:

dn: cn=test
cn: test
xmozillanickname: test
description: test
objectclass: top
objectclass: groupOfNames
member: cn=Seth Spitzer,mail=sspitzer@sspitzer.org
member: cn=Scott Putterman,mail=putterman@netscape.com

so importing and exporting ldif properly should be worked on first.  this xml 
would be gravy.
