From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:0.9.6) Gecko/20011120 BuildID: 2001112009 There's no difference between close and exit on composer when only a window is open. Both commands exit the composer. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Load Composer 2. Use the Close command and use also the Exit Actual Results: Close works as Exit, when only one Composer windows is open. Expected Results: Close should only close the active document and not Composer.
Didn't find dups...strange. Confirming on 2002010303, Win98. This one and bug 113495 might be somehow related (both dismiss composer window).

Each document edited is in its own Composer window. If you "close the active document", of course you are closing the entire window. After closing a window, are you expecting Composer to remain open with a blank page? That is only correct if Composer was a multiple document type of application.

Oops, didn't notice that Editor isn't a mdi application. But now the question is, what's the purpose of Close command? Leftover of an abandoned mdi design?
Close is pretty much a requirement on any app's File menu -- just closes the window, while "Exit" closes all if you have > 1 open.
reassign bugs in case they are later reopened
