Hi Fabrice, can we have you opinion here if we want to achieve this? What would be the missing parts here? If I'm correct, there's no route to install app like this unless it's installed from marketplace. Thanks!

If these are privileged apps (and not certified ones) we can implement it, yes. The one thing that may be a bit tricky is to not show the installation confirmation dialog to the user. To do that, gaia needs to be able to filter out some manifest urls. We could use a subdomain in the marketplace for instance.

(blocked wrong bug) Can we dupe this to bug 1172922 now? I've also filed bug 1193587 for the system app piece of the implementation.
