Details

The status bar sometimes says "document done" although the Stop button in the toolbar is still enabled. I assume this is due to the main document being loaded fully, whereas some frames are still loading. I think that the status bar shouldn't say "document done" until ALL images etc. in ALL frames has loaded.

Are you sure it's a duplicate? Because that other bug treats the component "Mail Window Front End" and that is a little bit more specific than "Browser". Also, it is marked as fixed, although I still see this happen, at least along with tabbed browsing.
Now that I look at it again, I think I was mistaken to link this bug to that one. That bug seems to have been fixed May 26, 2001, while this bug was filed on December 29. Sorry about that. Reopening it.

I think that status is supposed to reflect the "top" document loading only. +cc gagan b/c I think he understands this better than me.
Hmmm... IIUC the stop button would remain active for animated images on a page too. Other than that it should correctly stop. Reporter: are you seeing this on pages with animations? Benc: In either case this belongs in webshell area.

No, usually the stop button turns disabled even though there are gif animations on the page.
