Crash Data

This bug was filed from the Socorro interface and is report bp-26d1ec51-ab39-4d11-9d54-1fc322150605. ============================================================= The Flash game superstadia.com was the top crashing Flash site in May. There were multiple crash signatures, but this stack trace is the second most common, accounting for 17% of superstadia.com crashes. (The most common superstadia.com crash signature is bug 1174002). https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/search/?product=Firefox&process_type=plugin&url=%3Dhttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.superstadia.com%2Fsites%2Fdefault%2Fsuperstadia%2Fsuperstadia.swf Frame Module Signature Source 0 npswf32_17_0_0_134.dll F1634110993____________________________________ F_1948725653_______________________________:16113 1 npswf32_17_0_0_134.dll F_1942825133_________ F_1948725653_______________________________:16547 2 npswf32_17_0_0_134.dll F_433506135_______ F_1948725653_______________________________:1158 3 npswf32_17_0_0_134.dll F_324160022___________ 4 npswf32_17_0_0_134.dll F_682491847___________________________ F_604679557______________________________________________:841 5 npswf32_17_0_0_134.dll F1905979889______________ F_245364498_________________________________________:1058 6 npswf32_17_0_0_134.dll F1151864417___________ F_245364498_________________________________________:1274 7 npswf32_17_0_0_134.dll npswf32_17_0_0_134.dll@0x6172af 8 npswf32_17_0_0_134.dll F870086258_______________________________ F_245364498_________________________________________:3047 9 npswf32_17_0_0_134.dll F_458799790____________________ F_245364498_________________________________________:678 10 npswf32_17_0_0_134.dll F_1440603502__________________ F_604679557______________________________________________:381 11 npswf32_17_0_0_134.dll F626750528______________________________________________________________________ F_570527279_____________________________________________________:193 12 npswf32_17_0_0_134.dll F_583618063__________________________________________________________________ F1466213____________________________________________:3300 13 npswf32_17_0_0_134.dll F_1357242165_______________________________________ F1466213____________________________________________:3079 14 npswf32_17_0_0_134.dll F1718314630________________________ F_919722739________________________________:13410 15 npswf32_17_0_0_134.dll F_1995396427_________________ F_919722739________________________________:13878 16 npswf32_17_0_0_134.dll F1546913566_____________________________________ F_578802783_______________________________________________________________:4239 17 npswf32_17_0_0_134.dll F1187989989____________________________________________ F_578802783_______________________________________________________________:408 18 user32.dll InternalCallWinProc 19 user32.dll UserCallWinProcCheckWow 20 user32.dll CallWindowProcAorW 21 user32.dll CallWindowProcW 22 xul.dll mozilla::plugins::PluginInstanceChild::FlashThrottleAsyncMsg::Run() dom/plugins/ipc/PluginInstanceChild.cpp 23 xul.dll MessageLoop::RunTask(Task*) ipc/chromium/src/base/message_loop.cc 24 xul.dll MessageLoop::DeferOrRunPendingTask(MessageLoop::PendingTask const&) ipc/chromium/src/base/message_loop.cc 25 xul.dll MessageLoop::DoDelayedWork(base::TimeTicks*) ipc/chromium/src/base/message_loop.cc 26 xul.dll base::MessagePumpForUI::DoRunLoop() ipc/chromium/src/base/message_pump_win.cc 27 xul.dll base::MessagePumpWin::RunWithDispatcher(base::MessagePump::Delegate*, base::MessagePumpWin::Dispatcher*) ipc/chromium/src/base/message_pump_win.cc 28 xul.dll base::MessagePumpWin::Run(base::MessagePump::Delegate*) ipc/chromium/src/base/message_pump_win.h 29 xul.dll MessageLoop::RunInternal() ipc/chromium/src/base/message_loop.cc 30 xul.dll MessageLoop::RunHandler() ipc/chromium/src/base/message_loop.cc 31 xul.dll MessageLoop::Run() ipc/chromium/src/base/message_loop.cc 32 xul.dll XRE_InitChildProcess toolkit/xre/nsEmbedFunctions.cpp 33 plugin-container.exe content_process_main(int, char** const) ipc/contentproc/plugin-container.cpp 34 plugin-container.exe wmain toolkit/xre/nsWindowsWMain.cpp 35 plugin-container.exe __tmainCRTStartup f:/dd/vctools/crt/crtw32/startup/crt0.c:255 36 kernel32.dll BaseProcessStart
Chris, I'm wondering if this is the complete picture. When I search for this signature during the span of May 1 - May 30, I'm only seeing ~350 reports. It doesn't look like I have permission to see the URL field or use it in a search, but I'm wondering if there are multiple signatures involved given that this is hitting your topcrash list. I'm pulling the stacks for crashes in the current version and will follow up with a bug number shortly.
This is ADBE 4005687. I was trying to fragment the signature search on windows version (I'm curious about whether this is specific to a particular OS version and architecture), but I get really weird results from fragmenting on platform version. Is there a better way? I didn't see any good options.

The platform version field is a little weird, but the results are still usable. It splits on words, so "6.1.7601 service pack 1" counts as a tally for "6.1.7601" and "service" and "pack" and "1". https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/search/?signature=%3DF1634110993____________________________________&date=%3E4%2F4%2F2015&_facets=signature&_facets=build_id&_facets=version&_facets=release_channel&_facets=platform_version&_facets=cpu_arch&_columns=date&_columns=signature&_columns=product&_columns=version&_columns=build_id&_columns=platform#facet-platform_version If you ignore anything that doesn't look like a Windows build number, then you get the results you're looking for. Looks like this signature has a pretty typical distribution of Windows versions, although it's only seen on 32-bit browser builds.

This crash signature is not a top crash, but I thought it was worth investigating because superstadia.com was the website with the most plugin crashes (of any crash signature) in May. Crashing more than Facebook or YouTube, let alone almost 2x more than Facebook and YouTube combined, is quite unusual! This bug's crash signature was superstadia.com's top crash signature. Sure, I was just wondering whether there were additional signatures that I should be looking at since this one covers 350 of the 2326 crashes, or if the others were unrelated to Flash.
@dmajor - thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for.
This looks resolved to me. I'm only seeing one crash on this signature at this point.
