User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:0.9.7) Gecko/20011221
BuildID: 2001122106
After I've installed JRE 1.3.1 and restarted Mozilla, Java still doesn't work,
even though all the plugin files are in the C:\Program
Files\mozilla.org\Mozilla\Plugins directory. I can even see them mentionned in
the "Help - About Plugins" menu (4 different plugins for Java), but every time I
see a page with some java in it, it says that I need to install the plugin.
I've had the same problem in my other machine which has Windows 2000 on it. The
"Debug - Verification - Applets" menu doesn't work either. Java applets used to
work for me before (earlier builds) so I don't know what's been broken.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open mozilla
2.go to any page which as some Java applets
3.
Actual Results: No results!!!
Expected Results: Show the Java applet properly.

Not sure but this might be the same as bug 117483.

As in bug 117483, I always obtain "Click here to download the plugin" where the Java Applet should
be, even though Java is enabled. Apart from that, the mozilla browser runs fine. By the way, I also
have Opera on my system, and the (same) Java plugins work just fine in it.
dup of bug 101687?

Sorta, maybe. Bug 101687 pertains to the Windows release; it could be a
similar problem though (installer not installing the Java plugin correctly).
