Thanks, Nihan! Can you add in the dates that the copy and design are due?
Jenn, like the other email, for the copy piece, Ben, MJ and I will review first, then will let you know when it's ready for Matej.
The design can begin whenever.

Hi Jess, thanks for reminding me! As per schedule, we are expecting to see the draft copy and design on June 28, and the final copy and design on June 30.

Thanks Nihan! I just took a look at the calendar and realized that the template is used for a Thursday day send vs. Tuesday (I apologize - this isn't an exact science sometimes. If we want to send on Tuesday, we should update the calendar template to avoid Saturday & Sunday due dates).
I propose launching on Thursday the 23rd for this first newsletter - that will give us time outside of the weekends and Whistler next week:
6/30 - Draft copy & design
7/2 - Final copy & design
Sound good?

Excellent! Thanks MJ!
Niran/Nihan - you okay with the latest edits? Once you approve, it's ready for Matej to review.
Note: this is a bit of a clunky process for this email and the July news - we'll work on streamlining it as we all get comfy with the process.

Oh geez - sorry - wrong bug. This one isn't ready - ignore that piece.
MJ - this is now up for you to look at the week after Whistler.
Thanks!

Checking in on copy here.
Also, if you want to use a photo from a launch event, would it be possible to share those with Matt? Thanks!

Hi all, I want to share what some of the visuals would look like in the FxOS template for July. If everything is good to go, I can save out the individual visuals and post here in the bug. Let me know what you think.
Thanks,
MT

Thanks MT! For the "fxos_africa_300x150px.png" - can you send the full-width desktop size? (a la Firefox + You)? We'll get the code to resize it down to the right mobile view if/when viewed on a mobile device.

Matej, we need a little more help for the following:
1. Subject line text
2. Pre-header text
3. CTA text for the click through buttons. I've included my suggestions in the doc - please feel free to edit if you think necessary (Brynne, please this check out as well)
Thanks,
Nihan

Hi Nihan,
Matej is on PTO this week, so I'm checking in with our other copy writer. I'll let you know as soon as I hear back if he has the bandwidth to take a look Tuesday or Wednesday.

Hi Nihan,
Troy will take a look and provide some options by end of day tomorrow.
Troy, adding a need info for you so the bug doesn't get lost. Thanks!

Hi Nihan (and everyone)
Here is a link to my copy options for the Subject, Pre-header and CTAs (I created a separate doc, not wanting to clutter the existing one). Each item has a couple of options — hopefully there's something in there that works.

Hi Jennifer,
While coding the newsletter, Brynne ran into a bit of a issue (hopefully can be fixed easily and fast):
1. ES and PT header images are different shades of gray than the EN one
2. FR header image has a white line at the top that needs to be removed (the gray shade for this is fine)
The PSD files are here: http://cl.ly/093I3n0N2c41
Is it possible to get these fixed asap?
Thanks!

Hi Nihan, not sure sure the source of the issue on this one...looks like all languages are correct within the PSD. I can post new pngs for the required languages though.

Hi Matt - Can you remove the dates from the headers? That's hard coded in the HTML. Thanks!
Comment 38•10 years ago
|
||
Hi - Just a quick check in to see if we can get the updated headers without the date?
Thanks,
Brynne

MT,
There's a bit of a mismatch I've found in how Photoshop and Dreamweaver handle color. Can you resend the header images for PT, ES and FR with the background color set to #D1D2D3?
When I use the color picker on the header image background in Photoshop it's coming up #dadbdb

Hmm, that's odd. Could we save as a transparent png to omit the background?
Here is the PSD:

Transparencies are a no-no in email since some clients will show them as black boxes.
I finally got it licked. Something about exporting them from Photoshop was mucking with the color. So I uploaded to Dreamweaver and extracted from there. Problem solved. So very weird.
