Reproducible on: * Release 38.0.6 (20150605094246) * Beta 39.0b6 (20150615125213) * Aurora 40.0a2 (2015-06-16) * Nightly 41.0a1 (2015-06-16) Affected platforms: Windows 8.1 (x64), Mac OS X 10.9.5, Ubuntu 14.04 (x86) Steps to reproduce: 1. Launch Firefox. 2. Access about:home or about:newtab. 3. Right-click the search input field and select "Add a Keyword for this Search...". Expected result: * The option should not be available for these fields in the first place. * Selecting the option has no effect. Actual result: Selecting "Add a Keyword for this Search..." causes the following error to get thrown in the Browser Console from BrowserUtils.jsm:70:0 > NS_ERROR_MALFORMED_URI: Component returned failure code: 0x804b000a > (NS_ERROR_MALFORMED_URI) [nsIIOService2.newURI] Additional notes: * This is either an old regression or an issue affecting the search fields from about:home and about:newtab since day one. I traced it back to Nightly 29.0a1 (2014-01-02).
