I don't think this is Gaia related.
Component: Gaia::System::Lockscreen → General

@Tim, could you tell me which component does this issue actually result from?
I guess it is an event handling problem, but not so sure.

Tim, Gaia is triggering the animation and waits for the animationend to call poweroff I think. Can you check of we don't mess up the state on the gaia side if we get the keypress during the animation?

Can't reproduce testing steps with master flame (9/9)
(Click the Restart option from sleep menu, Press the hardware power button during poweroff animation)
Though checked the sleep_menu and hardware_button, gaia does not disable hardware buttons when device is poweroff.
In on device tests, I can receive power button press event when poweroff animation is playing.

I can reproduce with the latest 2.2 (20150706162504) flame, but the reproduce rate is about 1/2.

I was able to reproduce the issue 3 out of 5 attempts on Flame, and 1 out of 3 attempts on Aries. It seems extremely timing related. You need to short press the power button pretty much immediately after you select Restart. There's an animation of three orange circles going from top to bottom, you need to press the power button as it shows the second circle in the middle.
