Details

From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:0.9.7) Gecko/20011221
BuildID: 2001122106

Scrolling (whether in browser, mail, or XXX windows) is slow and jerky when
using the logitech wheel mouse (whereas it was deliciously smooth in netscape
4.x). This bug was already present in previous versions of Mozilla.

The wheel mouse is set to scroll "N lines at a time", with "system default"
enabled. But disabling the latter doesn't change the jerkiness, only the amount
of lines being jerkily scrolled ;((

The Logitech setting on the control panel is "AutoScroll" for the wheel (which
is the most reasonable setting) and the scroll amount is set to 6 lines. The
PS/2 port speed (yes, it's a PS/2 mouse) is set to 100 interrupts/second there.

Logitech MouseWare version is 9.41 (the latest as of this writing).
The problem was the same with a previous version (upgrading wouldn't change
anything).

This may look kind of futile but this was definitely the one thing that made me
really prefer Netscape 4.x over MSIE (yes, MSIE scrolls bad too, though not as
bad as Mozilla). Please note that in most standard Windows applications
(including Windows Explorer, Microsoft Office...), scrolling is perfectly
smoooooth ;)

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Plug a Logitech plain PS/2 wheel mouse and switch the computer on
2. Install Logitech MouseWare in order to have the wheel function
3. Run Mozilla and view any web page, or mail, that is longer than one screen page
