User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64; rv:38.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/38.0
Build ID: 20150525141253

Steps to reproduce:

Start TB, then a window pops for mailbox password.
From now on, the main window content has disappeared, replaced by a grey area.

Actual results:

When focus goes again to main window, problem remains, but when hovering mouse pointer over the window, items are "revealed" as the pointer goes (messages lines, icons, other graphic items).

Hovering over the Lightning Calendar button reveals the button; clicking this button restores most of the main window content (columns, lines w/ messages, buttons ...)

Expected results:

Even when losing focus due to password window pop up (or clicking any other window, BTW), the content of the main window should remain displayed normally, not turn to a grey area
Tried in thunderbird -safe-mode (add-ons disabled, see the Help menu)?

Can you try to disable the hardware acceleration through untick Options/Advanced/Use hardware acceleration when available?

Hi !

Have tried this in Options/General/Advanced/Advanced options but does not change anything.
Maybe even worse : clicking the Lightning Agenda button does not restore window content.

Please advise !

Thanks.
Then have you tried Magnus's proposal in comment 1?

Yes, I have tried again 38.0.1, then use the option to restart it with all modules inactive.
Alas, same result again, have to switch back to 31.7 for now.

Has anyone a hint ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Wayne,

I'm using 38.2.0 right now. No change.
I missed to mention a major point : I use Stardock WindowBlinds.
Seemingly something changed in Thunderbird at some point, since WindowBlinds used to work correctly w/ TB.
I did not upgrade or otherwise change WindowBlinds.
However, when I configure WindowBlinds not to skin TB, the problem disappears.
I can live like this.
What I can't understand is why it used to work and does not any more since TB 38 or the previous version.
Feel free to close the bug if you do not find an easy fix.
Regards

Additional info : the problem with Stardock WindowBlinds appeared in all versions after 31.7, which worked fine w/ WindowBinds.

Regards
I never used WindowBlinds but from other users with similar problems I know where is a option where you can disable WindowBlinds for programs or windows.

Please can you try this?
There is a advanced setting in WindowBlinds that allows to disable it, partly or completely, for a given list of programs.
So I excluded TB from being skinned by WindowBlinds and this solves the problem (I did this since just after TB 31.7).
I tried to re-enable it for each new version of TB, including latest 38.2.0, but the problem remains.
Something changed in TB since 31.7 that prevents TB to work correctly with it.
For now I keep preventing WindowBlinds to skin TB and that's fine with me, I can live with "unskinned" TB...
Thanks for advising.
Thanks for the update
