Steps to reproduce:

1) Enter the demo: https://web-animations.github.io/web-animations-demos/starfield/starfield-indiv.html
2) Open developer tools and start recording a Performance trace.
3) Click "Stop Recording Performance" - Firefox hangs indefinitely.


Actual results:

Firefox hanged indefinitely (not just the demo tab).


Expected results:

Performance trace should have stopped successfully without hanging the whole browser.

I believe this is a combination of bug 1152441, but it doesnt seem like it's THAT many markers (3k per second), and bug 1169035, which causes major reflow in some cases in the parent process, which can look like hanging if long enough -- I was attempting just short 1-3 second recordings which worked after a lot of chugging. Any longer and it would hang.

This report is related to the old DevTools Profiler.
The Performance panel now points to the new Firefox profiler available at profiler.firefox.com
