Sunny reports at bug 1151345 comment #131 that he sees this bug even with my patch for that bug.

Sunny, this is *not* an adequate bug report. We need detailed, precise, written steps to reproduce. Presumably one of your extensions is involved. Please try to determine which one. Start by disabling all of them, and seeing if the bug still happens in that state.

Sorry about that. You are right. It was an add-on called MyPoints. I only have Firebug and then this. We're good now. Thanks for helping me fix the issue! Much appreciated.

We're not quite finished yet. What is MyPoints? Where do you get it? What's its home page? When MyPoints is enabled, does this bug happen every time you start Firefox, or only some of the time? If only some of the time, what do you need to do to make the bug happen?

So far, when I disable that add-on and restart firefox the issue seems to go away. When I enable the add-on the issue comes back. Easy replication! It's an add-on that is active all the time checking for websites that load and present you with various options of collecting points that you can redeem later. The add-on itself is available at https://www.mypoints.com/emp/u/shopping-extension/install.vm.

Thanks, Sunny. I frankly don't trust that extension. So I'm going to need to wait until I can test it in a disposable VM, which I'm afraid won't be until next week. In the meantime, at least you know how to work around the bug.

Hi Steven, I can reproduce the bug on my XULRunner application (OutWit Hub), even if I apply your patch, and even if I build with latest mozilla-central (41). Here's what we found, hope this will help : The application is a very simple "launcher" with a big extension, so maybe the launching time is part of the problem. The bug does not occur if I remove extensions.ini AND run the application with the profile manager. Also, it does not occur on a restart (using Ci.nsIAppStartup.eRestart parameter), only on a quit. It was working well on XULRunner 35. Since I can reproduce the bug every time, feel free to ask me anything to test or investigate. Regards,
