Reproducible on: Firefox 40.0a2 and Firefox 41.0a1 across all platforms STR 1.Launch Firefox with clean profile. 2.From about:config, set xpinstall.signatures.required = true. 3.Close Firefox. 4.Extract the files from the XPI into the <profile>/extensions/<ID> then start Firefox. 5.Finish the install process and verify the add-on status in about:addons. ER The add-on is enabled in Addons Manager. AR The sideloaded add-on is disabled in Addons Manager. Additional notes: - This issue is reproducible on Firefox 40.0a2 (2015-06-24) and Firefox 41.0a1 (2015-06-24) under Windows 7 64-bit and Ubuntu 14.04 32-bit - I am attaching a screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/vkzoYu8.jpg - I am attaching the signed sideloaded add-on.
This add-on is signed by the dev root, did you enable xpinstall.signatures.dev-root? It works for me when I do that.

You're right, the add-on is successfully installed and enabled with xpinstall.signatures.dev-root set to true across all platforms. Marking this bug as Invalid.
