User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.10; rv:38.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/38.0 Build ID: 20150525141253 Steps to reproduce: I updated to 38.0.1 The underlying applications are almost visible through Thunderbird. How can I switch this 'feature' off? It is very disturbing. ;JOOP! Actual results: See above Expected results: Behaviour as before: opaque.
Sorry, but this is not a localisation issue. Setting Product to "Thunderbird".

I fully agree, but there's something wrong when you want to file a Thunderbird issue: first the page insists that it is about FireFox, then the only option is localisation. Thanks for your intervention. ;JOOP!
How does the current behavior create a problem? Could you attach a screenshot which does not display any sensitive/private information (as Bugzilla is a public place)?

As requested. ;JOOP!

Does it happen if Thunderbird is started in safe mode? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/safe-mode-thunderbird
Flags: needinfo?(J.F.Lanting)
Yes, exactly the same. ;JOOP! P.S.: does this all mean that support on OSX has continued? (refer to bug 1033226)
Flags: needinfo?(J.F.Lanting)
P.S.: the effect is only shown when Thunderbird has focus. ;JOOP!
Theme?
Component: Untriaged → Theme
OS: Unspecified → Mac OS X
This was added in bug 1053121 by intent. But you should see this not only in TB but also in FX's sidebars, Finder and other Apple products. This can only disabled globally, see the how to: http://www.howtogeek.com/199201/how-to-disable-window-transparency-in-os-x-yosemite/
Great, that solved it for me (global opaque-ness). Thanks. ;JOOP!
