Comment on attachment 8627012 [details] bruex-webhosting.xml.txt In general, I think we prefer for people to host their own files, but I'll request review from asuth just in case my information is out of date.

The deciding factor right now is whether vanity domains are hosted on bruex-webhosting.de via MX. Aka, are there any customer domains who have DNS MX entries that point to the mail.bruex-webhosting.de mailserver?

Hello there, yes the mail server is: mail.bruex-webhosting.de. All customers use this mail server -> mail.bruex-webhosting.de when recording is performed in the ISP? Best regards Martin Brüx

(In reply to bruex-webh from comment #5) > yes the mail server is: mail.bruex-webhosting.de. All customers use this > mail server -> mail.bruex-webhosting.de Are you saying there are domains that have MX entries that refer to this domain other than bruex-webhosting.de? For example "example.com" with an MX of "mail.bruex-hwebhosting.de". Or just that all customers use this mail-server? I used an older sonar.fdns database from 2014, but at the time the MX records for bruex forwarded to kundenserver.de so that is probably not a useful database. If there are no MX entries for domains other than bruex-webhosting.de referencing that server, then you should self-host. See https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Thunderbird/Autoconfiguration#Domain_hoster for more information.
