Description

Randomly, hitting ctrl+r in the mail/news windows while reading and responding
to email on a IMAPS server causes Mozilla to segfault and go away. Behaviour
observed with 2001123121, 2001120206. Not observed with 2001101221.

This is Slackware Linux 8.

Might be related to bug 117891 also reported today ?

Perhaps.

There's definitely some bug in Mail/News related to opening a view or composer
window based off of the main threading window.

Do we have other mail/news testers on Linux who can verify either?

Reporter,
Can you attach the stack trace or mention the incident id from the latest build
id you have mentioned here?

How would I be able to generate this?

The dailies I use don't just leave little core files hanging around :/

Reporter,
Download the talkback enabled nightly build and when you crash submit the crash
report with your email address and you can report the incident id.

ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly/2002-01-22-08-trunk/mozilla-i686-pc-li
nux-gnu-installer.tar.gz

I can search the talkback with your incident id or your email address and get
the stack trace.
Dylan, is this still affecting you?

I've been using 2002020421. I've yet to see it crash as reliably on ctrl+r.
I'm assuming it's gone away at some point. There are still other "gleeps" in
IMAP mail which are obvious, though (such as subfolder deletion not removing the
little > arrow), but those probably have bugs filed away :)
