I redid bsmedberg's notebook, switching to 593,268 pings from a 10% sample of Beta submitted on September 20th. I did not download the notebook before my cluster died, but the key details are below. Then I did the comparison in the other direction, grabbing 10% of the Beta pings and examining the submission date for every one that claimed a creationDate in August. Both sets of results were comfortingly similar to what Ben found.
