Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64; Trident/7.0; .NET4.0E; .NET4.0C; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; rv:11.0) like Gecko

Steps to reproduce:

The account manager wizard is poorly designed/implemented, so probably the only way how to insert the account configuration manually is to switch Firefox into offline mode. But it still doesn't work if there is hash in the e-mail address.

1. Switch firefox to offline mode
2. Click add new mail account in account manager
3. Insert email address: user@ok0nag.#boh.cze.eu

Actual results:

It doesn't allow to manually enter configuration.

Expected results:

It allows to manually enter the configuration.
It is regression because it worked in the past.

It is possible to workaround this bug by entering email address without hash and changing it later.
Jaroslav: this bug is in Thunderbird, right?
Mike: can you CC the right Thunderbird people on this bug?
Component: Untriaged → Account Manager
Flags: needinfo?(mconley)
Product: Firefox → Thunderbird
Version: 38 Branch → unspecified
So what is the exact error message and at what step in the account wizard?
Does it fail because TB uses ok0nag.#boh.cze.eu as the server hostname and THAT is rejected?
Also, have you tried clicking Advanced config?
Looks like aceman is on the case.
