User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:39.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/39.0
Build ID: 20150630154324
Steps to reproduce:
Firefox 39 shutdown...
Actual results:
I would like to report a bug that occurs when closing Firefox since the last update from 38.05 to 39.0.0.5659 version. Shutdown the browser causes systematically the crash of ntdll.dll file.
Windows describes the problem as follows:
"Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: firefox.exe
Application Version: 39.0.0.5659
Application Timestamp: 55933a80
Fault Module Name: ntdll.dll

Fault Module Timestamp: 55024174
Exception Code: c0000005

Additional Information 4: 6ea5989c6fd3da4e11b44361b4f0b0f3"
My OS is :
Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2 / 32-bit Operating System
Processor : Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T7700 @ 2.40 GHz
Memory (RAM) 3.00 GB
Graphic Card : NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS.
Expected results:
Firefox 39 shutdown without ntdll.dll crash !
This phenomenon did not occur before updating Firefox from 38.05 to 39.0.0.5659 version.
Thank you for your help.
Best regard,
Chris Garuda

Hello Gingerbread Man,
Thank you for your suggestion but the result will not help to solve this problem because Firefox answered "No crash reports have been Submitted"...
But shutdown the browser always causes the MS Windows information window: "Firefox has stopped working" with ntdll.dll file as faulty module. And sometimes, the faulty module is mozglue.dll too...

Under Options → Advanced → Data Choices, “Enable Crash Reporter” must be checked. After Firefox crashes, the Mozilla Crash Reporter window should show up; check “Tell Mozilla about this crash” then click the Restart Firefox button. Once you've done this at least once, you'll have a crash report ID listed in about:crashes.
If the crash reporter fails to show up, see the “Alternative ways to get a stacktrace” section of the aforementioned article.

Hello,
Naturally, “Enable Crash Reporter” functionality was already enabled but Firefox does not detect anything!
However, i strongly suspect now the Free Download Manager plugin to have been the cause of Firefox crashes.
After completing the Free Download Manager update from v3.9.6 v3.9.6 build 1556 to build 1559 (with the plugin FDM Firefox Plugin updated from v1.7.5.2 to v1.7.5.4 ), This bug is no longer displayed.
It is therefore appropriate to consider this issue as resolved.
Thank you for your help and best regard.

ok thank you. Do you use the "Free Download Manager" addon? I have seen several variants of malware and spyware with that name, and I encourage you to be cautious about it.

Hello Benjamin,
Thank you for your warning. I download the well-known and useful tool "Free Download Manager" only on the official website (http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/) currently considered as reliable. In addition, I scan each version of this software on VirusTotal website before installing it to reduce the risk.
However, we have to admit that there's no solution to one hundred percent risk-free regardless of the computer product (including Firefox browser)...
