Details

As per bug 1173200 comment 9, this method could use some updating.

Investigate if we can change the code paths to rely more on Intent.parseUri, and if we need to normalize the Uri.

Then clean it up! Call out to some named functions to reduce the length of the function and for clarity (e.g. getSMSSchemeIntent).
Maybe this will be part of bug 1182140.
