I'll attach the page soon.

Try installing the same flash plugin that I'm using, I'll attach it to this bug.
Also note that the link to the SWF file can be blind, and still Mozilla hangs
(even though it can't load the SWF file).
This doesn't have to be a bug in plugins interface, maybe there's a problem with
parsing the HTML code here...
I'll also attach my prefs.js (maybe there are some prefs that need to be set to
trigger this bug).

Aleksander, yours flash binary probably is newer than netscape bundled , at
least it has bigger size:
946044 Jan 24 13:44 libflashplayer.so
947992 Jan 24 13:48 libflashplayer_118182.so
and it works just fine for me, with all test cases in this bug report.
http://www.fun.from.hell.pl/2002-01-17/oblakanie.html has a flash content with
audio in it. Are you running any audio players when mozilla hangs?
If yes, than see bug #58339.

The problems lies somewhere in my profile, I runned all testcases with a new
profile and they didn't hang Mozilla.
They showed a rectangular area in place of missing Flash animation.
Flash content from http://www.fun.from.hell.pl/2002-01-17/oblakanie.html
displayed fine, and I even got audio!
As soon as I manage to get some time, I'll try to isolate the problem in my profile.

Hmm, that's very strange!
Now when I run with my old profile, everything's fine!
Creating and then deleting a different profile with Profile Manager
(/usr/local/mozilla/mozilla -ProfileManager) fixed my main profile!

The story seems suspiciously similar to bug 115667...
Let's keep this bug open and wait until I start receiving hangs again.
Then I'll try messing up with profile and get some more details.

I discovered that Mozilla doesn't hang completely, it only freezes for a couple
of minutes (freeze period ranges from 2 to 7 minutes).
I've also a new testcase, this time an e-mail message.
I'll attach it here.

It seems that this bug keeps getting back to me when I upgrade my nightly build
and restore my old plugins from an archive. The archive is just a .tar.bz2 where
i keep the contents of mozilla/plugins directory. Maybe it's because I were
overwriting the null plugin with an old version?
I'll remove libnullplugin.so from my archive then wait and see if it stops
coming back.

I was, right, when I'm not overwriting null plugin, everything's fine.
What a bonehead I am...
Closing bug and very sorry for all this spam :-(...

Reopening.
This bug is back on me (Linux trunk 2002020222 build), although I have kept the
original null plugin that came with the nightly build.
Bug exhibits as usual, when opening one of the testcases, Mozilla hangs for
about 5 minutes.
An idea where the problem might be?

It's hard to reproduce it for myself.
With some builds, when I unpack the archived plugins to Mozilla's install dir, I
see this bug. With some builds, I don't.
I still can't sort it out, it just seems to make no sense.

I also can reproduce it _only_ when running Mozilla from an unprivileged user
account.
I weren't able to reproduce it when running Mozilla as root.

This bug is hitting me hard especially when I read articles on high-profile news
web sites like Zdnet, the Register, CNET etc.
They all use a technique of displaying flash ads embedded inside IFRAMEs. The
ads change with every reload.
When I visit such a page and happen to run a build that exhibits the buggy
behaviour, Mozilla hangs and I have to kill it.

It's worth noting that I stopped seeing this bug a few builds ago.
I certainly cannot reproduce it with Feb 23 and Feb 25 builds.
It might have been fixed in some other bug, but I've already seen this problem
go away in the past just to regress a couple of builds later...
I'll try to determine which build is vulnerable to this with reproducability and
let you know if I find one.

It isn't fixed for me. I's just that it went away from me (probably due to some
changes in my profile somewhere).
But when I reverted to on older build (2002-01-20-21-trunk) it went hanging again.
And now even the latest build (which worked fine just an hour ago) has the
problem again.
So if you want to try to reproduce it, I suggest running some older builds like
2002-01-20-21-trunk first.

Thanks to http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/ (known issues with Flash plugin) I've
finally got a hint that this problem is completely unrelated to particular
Mozilla build or any conditions on Mozilla's side - it's a dupe of bug 58339.
All those hangs were caused by me having another app use my audio device! No
wonder I couldn't associate it with any Mozilla builds...
Marking as dupe.
