Augustin, this is a meta bug to track all RTL issues for the Messages/SMS app — not just the CSS refactoring. Please open a specific bug for the refactoring, and make it a blocker of this bug and bug 1202354.
No longer blocks: CSS_Refactor_2.5

Hey Julien, While working on this bug, I've seen a strange thing happen when I attach a contact with an arabic name: the name is replaced with `####` (see screenshot). Is it something expected? If yes, do you know why? Is it something we want to fix? I don't remember having that in 2.0 or 2.2 (but I might be mistaken)...

Yeah, we replace all non-latin characters in filenames. I think it's a limitation in the MMS spec that makes it necessary to do this. NI Bevis to confirm this. Maybe we could display a notice when this happens though. Something like "The attachment name has been modified because of MMS technical limits." What do you think Morpheus?

Sorry for the delay. Since now the Message UX owner has transferred to Bryant, I will need info him instead.

Hi Julien, this is Bryant, I am now responsible for this bug :) So, if this garbled is something we can't avoid in this version, I guess we could just hide the filename entirely, and leave only the file extension as "vcf file" in the dialogue bubble. What do you think?

Hey Bryant, I don't think we'll have the time to do this in this version actually. I think it's best to file a separate bug because it's not completely related to this bug and follow the discussion there :) Filed bug 1215047
