From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.7) Gecko/20011221
BuildID: 2001122108
The GUI open dialog does not allow me to view the contents of directories or to
see files beginning with a period (hidden directories in Linux).
Ex 1: I wanted to email my ~/.bashrc file as an attachment, but I had to type in
the name of the file into the path, because the file was not visible.
Ex 2: I commonly view web pages in the browser from the local file system. For
example, if my home page for the local file system is
HOME/.public_html/index.html, I would like to view it in Mozilla. Even if I
change the file types to All Files, I still have to type in not only the
".public_html", but I have to know the names of the files in that directory as
well, because they are not visible.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Self-explanitory. See both examples in the description section above.
Actual Results: I have to type in the file names manually.
Expected Results: Files and directories with names beginning with a period
should be visible in the open dialog. The contents of the directories should be
visible as well.
I am running the 0.9.7 release on Ximian Gnome, with the Sawfish window manager.
