>>Project/Request Title:
Get them on AMO buttons
>>Project Overview:
We'd like to provide add-on developers a button they can use to promote their add-ons. Similar to: https://developer.android.com/distribute/tools/promote/badges.html
Would be nice to have them in two sizes so they can choose.

Hi Amy,
Sorry for the delay in response. I am thinking that we might be able to update buttons that we created for Marketplace. I'm currently trying to find the bug with those buttons and will share here.

I found the Marketplace buttons. I'm not sure if they will be useful in direction for these buttons: https://mozilla.netx.net/view/0003/p_383.jpg.
I have two questions for you, Amy, as I'm thinking about resourcing for this:
1. Do you have the content for these buttons? Should it be something like "Get the add-on for Firefox" or "Add-on for Firefox"?
2. Will that content need to be localized?

1) How about "Get this add-on for Firefox" or "Download this Firefox add-on"
2) Yes, it should be localizable

Matej, which do you prefer in comment 3 for the button?
Amy, once we have the text selected, you will need to start the l10n process.
Matt will work on getting the English version of the button done first. Depending on the time it takes to get localized text, we may have someone else complete those versions.

I prefer "Get this add-on for Firefox," though I wonder if we need "add-on." Something like "Get it for Firefox" would be nice and crisp and good for l10n.
The other possibility is that it has clear Firefox branding (logo + CTA) and then the line just says "Get the add-on."

I'm alright with "Get it for Firefox" without the logo, or "Get the add-on" with the logo. I'll leave it up to Matt :-)

Hi guys, I've attached two sizes using the logo with 'Get the add-on' string. I like the use of the logo here since it is easily recognizable. I'm not sure straight copy would work as well.

Looks great! Thanks everyone! We'll distribute this to add-on devs soon...

Hi Amy,
Once you get all the localized text or a good chunk, we can start looking at resourcing for l10n of the buttons. I'm going to go ahead and resolve the bug for now. You can reopen this bug when new content is ready. Thanks!

We've announced it to developers: https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2015/11/10/promote-your-add-ons-with-the-get-the-add-on-button/

We're getting requests for a Thunderbird version, and also higher resolutions. Would it be possible to provide the PSD file for people to modify? I'm thinking they can grab the Thunderbird guidelines and make their own: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/styleguide/identity/thunderbird/logo/

Hi Amy,
I was talking to Jen Bertsch and Matej about this. The consensus is that we don't really want everyone to be able to modify the button.
How about this...Submit a bug for a Thunderbird version. Then we can find someone in the Thunderbird community to create the button and the Creative team will review and approve it.
Does that work?

Sounds good! What component should people file the bug under?

Amy,
Can you submit a design bug? Thanks!

Jennifer just talked to me in person about the Thunderbird version and I'm happy to work on it like the Beta logo (Bug 1196942). Cloning this bug for that.
