Does it happen in safe mode? https://support.mozilla.org/kb/safe-mode Do you have the newest version of graphics driver?

Greetings, Unfortunately my Acer Aspire 7750G-6645 is a dual graphics APU/GPU intel/AMD respectively. I have updated to a custom driver by Leshcat, the only one that works with my laptop, to AMD's 15.7. The latest driver no longer has a manual switch from Performance GPU to Power Saving APU. I have uninstalled that driver and reverted to an earlier AMD 14.4 with a switch. As far as Mozilla Thunderbird I have reset fonts on Display/Fonts/Advanced - Incoming/Outgoing to Western ISO as one was set to Unicode. I lowered minimum font size to 12 as monospace was 14. Set most fonts to an Arial version. Issue seems to have resolved itself for now. Thanks, Andrei Simon.

So with version 38 and the old drivers you are OK? Or, did you need to disable hardware acceleration?

Hardware Acceleration is now on, everything is good.
Still good after you update to version 38.2.0?
As you read above, the problem has been found to be the new LESHCAT Video Drivers for APU/GPU laptops. Seems that version 15.7 allows APU to take over when laptop is powered on and the APU itself tries to downscale graphics or stay in green mode. Let them fix their own problem, my driver does not have to read 15.7 and most game mfgs. are ok with the old. Upgraded to 38.2.0, still no problem, thanks.
